Pocatello Arts Council - What Is Art

What Is Art

We're not really attempting to "stimulate a lively debate" as to what is and what is not art. To a large extent, what is art to you depends on myriad factors, including your particular background and experiences. What we will hope to do, is to provide an avenue for people to display some things that they think are art. Obviously, we're pretty limited with what we can do on the simple pages of a web site. For now, we'll stick to what can be presented on the page - this will mostly consist of pictures (photos, computer generated images, etc.) and possibly some passages of prose or poetry. If you have something you'd like to have considered for inclusion, please e-mail the webmaster. Everything you submit will definitely be considered - though we can't promise to publish everything on the web site. You can also submit discussions of things you see here, but again, no promises of publishing. We promise not to select based on what our vision of art is - but only on the basis of 'good taste'.
