The Pocatello Arts Council purchased two metal bison sculptures (cow and calf) created by artist Jason Brown which were then gifted to the Portneuf Greenway Foundation. The sculptures have been installed along the Greenway, on the South Main extension. Adjacent to the sculptures is a large metal bench containing a hand pounded geometric petroglyph design and petroglyph cutouts taken from local petroglyphs found on regional basalt lava flows. Created and donated by Mark Criner, the bench is a spectacular piece of art and a functional seating area for Greenway users. The PAC hopes to continue partnering with the Greenway to expand the location as an indigenous animal sculpture park. You can see photos of the sculptures and bench at our online gallery (click here).
