The Pocatello Arts Council co-sponsored two free Shakespeare performances Wednesday, July 27 (Much Ado About Nothing ) and Thursday, July 28, 2011 (The Merchant of Venice) at 6:30pm on Idaho State University Quad. The performances by Montana Shakespeare in the Parks were, as expected, wonderful, and the crowds were even larger (well over 600 each night) than in past years. Thanks to everyone who helped make these events happen. To learn more about the Shakespeare company and the performances and plays, click here. |

The Pocatello Arts Council is an all-volunteer city advisory board. It was established in October 1991 to encourage, enhance, and educate the community with respect to the arts. Functioning as a working board, members collaborate to identify, plan, and administrate public arts projects for community enhancement. Members oversee and manage available City allocated funding as well as seek additional arts funding from other sources to assist in the realization of projects. The council consists of nine to eleven members who serve three-year terms. |
The Pocatello Arts Council meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month in the Paradice Conference Room of the Pocatello City Hall - 911 N. 7th Avenue. Meetings are open to the public. Because meetings are occasionally rescheduled, it is best to call City Hall (208-234-6582) to confirm meeting time and place if you plan to visit. |
